A Visit from St. Nicholas can never be thought of the same after reading the Zombie take on the classic Christmas tale. In this retelling, a family comes face to face with a zombie Claus. This is not really a book for children, just adults who still think like children. As a bonus, we've added the tale of The Zombie Elf on the Shelf. Look for him in the first story. Two zombie holiday tales for the price of one!
T'was the Night of Zombies Before Christmas a cautionary tale for Bad little girls and boys Alex Willis Valerie Woelk Books
I ordered this book for my nieces and nephews who love all things zombie. This had the potential to be a cute take on the "twas the night before Christmas poem" but a zombie version (which I expected to have blood & guts in it. What I didn't expect is a reference to a crack dealer. That one reference in that poem can be changed to something else if you are reading the book to a child. The additional story about the zombie elf on the shelf is just horrible. The elf makes a list of items to gather which include the cardboard applicator that has been discarded from tampons. He then mentions a used condom some zombie have left behind he is going to get and save. What?!Yes the summary advises this is not for children, but read the reviews by people who claim to have read the book-they all mention reading it with their children or allowing their children to read it (including a six year old). This really is a book for adults, no child under the age of 16 should be reading this.

T'was the Night of Zombies Before Christmas a cautionary tale for Bad little girls and boys Alex Willis Valerie Woelk Books Reviews
Super funny parody of a Christmas classic! Bonus elf story is a plus. If you love zombies, this is a must have.
Purchased this for our Zombie lovers as a Christmas gift. I read it and plan to read it to my children since its funny. I'm sure my nieces will love it.
Thought this was so great. My 6 year old was skeptical when I read alloud, but was very excited to read to himself and enjoy the photos. The art is great.
My husband and eight year old son lived this book. They found the humor in it. My 5 yr old daughter thought it was funny but since we are an Elf on The Shelf fan I thought the second story would scare her.
We never even gave this to my then 7 year old zombie-obsessed daughter; way too adult and graphic, which is not how it's pictured and described, imo.
Not sure if this is marketed for parents who don't care what their young kids read and watch as I would think teenagers wouldn't want something that looks so much like a kids book, so in our case, we really have no use for it. At least it was cheap.
